HOV'S PROGRAM:

  1. Heart of the Valley volunteers assist seniors to help them remain in their own homes and preserve their independence. HOV will assist in providing these services by:
    • conducting intake interviews to determine needs, referring clients to other existing agencies for available services, and monitoring the services provided by these other agencies.
    • evaluate clients changing needs for in-home services

HOV serves those that are 59 years of age or older, who want to live independently and who need support and assistance in some of their daily activities to enable them to do so.

HOV does not intend to compete with existing available services but intends to connect seniors to those services already available and assist in providing needed services where they are not available.

HOV seeks funding by donations and grants from private individuals, corporations, governmental and philanthropic organizations. To minimize costs HOV operates with a minimum paid staff and utilizes volunteers to provide the majority of the contact and support to the served seniors.

HOV services are available to clients who reside in the cities in West Santa Clara Valley.

Pursuant to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, HOV does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin or handicap.

HOV has a suggested fee schedule which is updated and published periodically.
