ORGANIZATION:
1) HOV BOARD OF DIRECTORS:
- Currently consists of ten unpaid
volunteers who meet at least monthly to manage the business of
HOV.
- Bylaws are available for review at the offices
of HOV on request during normal working hours and include descriptions
of Board member responsibilities, terms of service and all other
normal non-profit corporation information required by the Secretary
of State of the State of California.
2) HOV DIRECTOR:
- Plans, executes and controls day to day operations.
- Provides vision.
- Recruits, interviews and trains volunteers. Monitors assigned
volunteers through updates, reports and follow-up.
- Participates in fundraising.
- Screens incoming client phone calls and matches volunteers with
clients according to interests, ability, need, location and availability.
- Performs the administrative tasks required for the operation
of the agency. Develops office policy and documents.
- Provides referral services as needed.
- Networks with other agencies in promoting and supplementing
HOV. Familiarize and work with other community groups and agencies
which have similar or related interests and programs in a cooperative
and meaningful manner.
- Participates in workshops and seminars which help increase understanding
and growth in the field of work.
- Manages the training and develops and directs the activities
of other support staff of HOV, such as clerical and field work
personnel.
- Supervises the preparation and maintenance of records on clients
and volunteers. Prepares activity reports and other written materials
(brochures, manual, ads, etc.).
- Attends Board meetings and reports to the Board of Directors
on a regular basis to receive general direction. Evaluates and
plans the work of HOV in cooperation with the Board of Directors.
3) OTHER SUPPORT PERSONNEL:
- Includes the Liberty Tower clerical staff (donation in kind
by SCMRF Inc.) and a TitleIV Council On Aging employee.
