2) VOLUNTEER CONTACTING:
The Director or designated staff will make an initial contact with each perspective volunteer over the telephone. If both the volunteer and director are interested, the volunteer will be sent a volunteer application, referral form and information about our program to fill out and mail back to HOV. This will be reviewed by the Director and a call will be made to the prospective volunteer to set up a volunteer interview.

3) INTERVIEWS:
Interviews will be conducted by the Director with those volunteers who respond through filling out the enrollment forms. See appendix for additional details. A Volunteer Interview record will be kept on each applicant.

4) PROGRAM DOCUMENTATION:
Volunteers will be asked to sign an Agency/Volunteer agreement at the end of their interview to ensure their commitment to HOV. Volunteers will be given time sheets to fill in and return at the end of each year. The Director shall be responsible for their orientation on an individual basis.

5) VOLUNTEER INSURANCE:
Insurance (auto, liability, etc.) carried by the volunteer shall provide primary coverage for the volunteer. HOV insurance policies are secondary coverage for volunteers.

  • An annual recognition event
  • Certificates of Appreciation

9) VOLUNTEER EVALUATIONS:
Volunteers will be periodically evaluated by the Director.

  • The Director shall be responsible for assignments, follow-up and updating for all volunteers, and their clients. See Appendix for reporting procedure.
