JOB DESCRIPTION
Respite Care Provider

Responsibilities:
* Provide in-home relief time for a family member caring for an aged relative who cannot be left alone.
(Care of the aged relative is companion care, not medical or personal care.)

Good visiting and conversational skills.
*Friendly and caring concern for the elderly.

A good placement for those who enjoy one-to-one contact. The volunteer gains satisfaction in providing a much needed service for caregivers that helps deter stress and elder abuse. The volunteer also gains first-hand experience in dealing with the elderly.

All volunteers who drive on agency business, i.e., to and from agency office or client's homes, or who take clients in their automobiles must maintain a good driving record and must maintain a current California Drivers License and a minimum of $25,000/50,000 public liability in car insurance (current state minimum) at all times while working as a volunteer for the agency.
