Why Volunteer?
Many seniors face leaving their possessions, contacts and even their homes, because basic needs, such as transportation, in-home repairs and services, assistance with shopping, advocacy and companionship, are not available to them.
The Solution:
You are the solution! With your service and support, you can help seniors live independent lives. HOV will help you put your skills and interests to work.
The HOV Volunteer, You!:
The HOV volunteer is a motivated person who wants to be a friend in their community. They choose to direct their efforts to helping seniors.
The Approach:
During the interview process, information will be provided on how to be an effective volunteer. We will focus on the services, times and locations that interest you.
The Requirements:
Volunteers can provide services every day between 9am and 9pm. Hours are flexible.
The Rewards:
Volunteers enjoy the rewards of new friendships, involvement in a caring community, an opportunity to learn new skills, and a chance to use their talents to help, motivate and strengthen the seniors in our community.
